Child Developmental Specialist (CDS)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Special Instruction (SI) services using a coaching model to help caregivers support their child’s development in home and community settings.

  • Support cognitive, social-emotional, and adaptive skill development through play-based learning integrated into everyday routines.

  • Conduct developmental screenings, develop IFSP goals, and implement intervention strategies in collaboration with caregivers.

  • Educate and empower caregivers with techniques to enhance child engagement, communication, and skill-building.

  • Collaborate with therapists and service coordinators to ensure comprehensive developmental support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field (per PA EI guidelines).

  • Experience working with young children, ideally in Early Intervention or a coaching-based educational setting.

  • Strong ability to guide, support, and empower families in natural environments.
