Child Developmental Specialist (CDS)
Responsibilities:
Provide Special Instruction (SI) services using a coaching model to help caregivers support their child’s development in home and community settings.
Support cognitive, social-emotional, and adaptive skill development through play-based learning integrated into everyday routines.
Conduct developmental screenings, develop IFSP goals, and implement intervention strategies in collaboration with caregivers.
Educate and empower caregivers with techniques to enhance child engagement, communication, and skill-building.
Collaborate with therapists and service coordinators to ensure comprehensive developmental support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field (per PA EI guidelines).
Experience working with young children, ideally in Early Intervention or a coaching-based educational setting.
Strong ability to guide, support, and empower families in natural environments.
